Yet in the end I caved in. When I saw the author's review of my work, I thought to myself - hey, that's a sign. I should start reading her novel. When I did, you guessed it - what I feared (expected) pretty much happened. I didn't get to work. I read instead (apologies to my publisher).

I LOVE this story! It's quite a tearjerker, really, and that's one thing I didn't expect. Oh, and the smut scenes! They were HOT - and exactly as promised by the cover (which I totally heart), the blurb, and the reviews. You see, I've been burned lots of times before - I keep buying YAs that every one says are sexy as heck but then I read it and ---- really? That's it? Everything's glossed over and behind the scenes? I mean, sure I want action in my book, but sometimes I just want to enjoy a young couple's sexy romance. I mean at their age - they're supposed to be driven by hormones, right? So...get those hormones working!

And don't get me started on the so-called New Adult genre! I thought that was going to be an improvement and give me a 50-shades kind of story for younger characters and no BDSM but...no. Nada. Nil. It's only when I found Amanda Heath's TBT that I FINALLY got what I was looking for. THIS is the kind of story that mainstream publishing has kept me from. It's what I've been searching for months!

Not that the smut is the only thing this novel has going for it, though. The characters are wonderful, too - especially Teagan's family. The camaraderie, the dynamics... Oh, and I love Declan - guys in my stories rarely cry so seeing a really hot guy show his soft side is refreshing for me. Extremely so.

So do I recommend this? Umm...ABSOLUTELY! As in - why do you NOT have this on your Kindle - or, in my case, - my iPad?

Looking forward to reading the next one in the series (and Book 2's pairing was a total shock for me, btw. Color me dense.)

Note:
This book is part of a series.
This review is in Goodreads and Amazon as well.

Maya Banks

https://www.authormariantee.com/my-recommendations/maya-banks

https://www.authormariantee.com/my-recommendations/maya-banks#comments

Uncategorized

Sweet AddictionBuy here.Review:The FIRST (and so far only) book I've read that features a permanent happy ending for an M/F/M pairing. But that's just me.
This is also the first book I read of MB and it's totally got me hooked. After that I practically spent an entire day reading her Highlander trilogy. Looking forward to reading more of her books.
Note: This is the last of the Sweet series.
