So...a few days ago I tried replying to comments using the iOS app of Weebly. Long story short - it didn't work the way I wanted it to. Lesson learned: the app's better for posting. I'm back to my laptop to answer comments. :)

Speaking of comments - I just found out that there were a handful of comments I didn't get to reply to because I didn't get to approve them. =/ Sorry!

Also, about my newsletter --- apparently, the web program I'm using to send it out does not let late subscribers receive newsletters that were sent out before they subscribed. Just making it clear coz I checked things out when a lot of readers messaged me about the sign-up form not working.

Ummm...what else? I'm doing my best to finish the last chapters of my Billionaire erotica out. It's a three-part story with the first two already complete. My publisher says it's better we have it all written completely before we release it soooo...let's just all have our fingers crossed and hope we get the last one done a.s.a.p.!

New Adult/Horror Recommended for readers 17+
Be careful what you let in…
Siler House has stood silent beneath Savannah’s moss-draped oaks for decades. Notoriously haunted, it has remained empty until college-bound Jess Perry and three of her peers gather to take part in a month-long study on the paranormal. Jess, who talks to ghosts, quickly bonds with her fellow test subjects. One is a girl possessed. Another just wants to forget. The third is a guy who really knows how to turn up the August heat, not to mention Jess’s heart rate…when he’s not resurrecting the dead.

The study soon turns into something far more sinister when they discover that Siler House and the dark forces within are determined to keep them forever. In order to escape, Jess and the others will have to open themselves up to the true horror of Siler House and channel the very evil that has welcomed them all.

Siler House was like the belle of the ball, dressed in elegant black, discreetly standing in the shadows and watching her guests.
That line.
Yeah, words are not enough. I love horror - scary reads are one of my guilty pleasures and I especially love it when they're written oh so beautifully, sort of like the way Shirley Jackson writes. And HP Lovecraft. The Haunting Season feels exactly like that, which is why I bought the book even before I got to know the author personally. And the book cover---
Picture
That cover.
Love, love, love. Looking at it just makes me feel even more excited to get to reading but at the same time I want to slow down and savor the book chapter by chapter.
And one really other wonderful thing about this book - it has a love story, too! I mean, a real one - and not just something added for the sake of it. That's quite rare, when it comes to YA horror.
So overall, I do hope you guys can take the time to check out The Haunting Season - and let me know what you think once you're done! :)

I'm Still Alive - Plus A Surprise for You!

It's been a really, really long time since I got to blog. SORRY about that!!! :( I read all your comments, was itching to reply, but couldn't because I needed to rest. I got really sick after the holidays and I didn't even get to go to a nice hospital for it. :( And everyone's orders were to rest, take it easy, etc.
Once in a while, I did get to answer messages from FB but that was that.
So let me see - I still have that post about Michelle Muto's The Haunting Season to upload. Itching to do that, too, and will get to it tonight hopefully. I got to read a bit of it while I was recuperating and what I did get to read was really good. :) It has a very Shirley Jackson feel to it, the story I mean (but with a modern twist of course).

Mmm....I'm doing my best to finish my newest erotic (contemporary) romance - an excerpt of it was included in my first newsletter. How (NOT) to be Seduced by Billionaires: A Survival Guide for Old-Fashioned Virgins is the first in my How-Not-to series.  It features Constantijin Kastein (don't you love his name? Coz I do, terribly!) - Netherlands' #1 playboy - and marketing research assistant Yanna Everleigh. She's sort of old-fashioned...as you'll see in the next sneak peek below.

And yes, that's my surprise - another sneak peek of How (NOT) to be Seduced by Billionaires.

“You have got to stop sending me flowers,” I told him laughingly while I was in my bath and he was in Dubai, meeting with oil sheikhs for the newest real estate project of Kastein, Inc.

“But I like doing it. I keep thinking how when I have you in my bed, I’d use all those petals to sprinkle all over you, tickle you, use it to caress your clit---” He paused then asked wickedly, “Are you turned on now?”

“None of your business,” I managed to say.

          He laughed.

That sound never failed to make my day – or night. Sinking more deeply into my bubble bath, I said again, “I’m serious. Knowing how much you’re spending on me with each bouquet is giving me a headache.”

I could hear him frowning as he answered, “Is this my fucking courtship or what?”

Knowing it was never a good thing to have long-distance quarrels, I said quickly, “I sent you a picture message. Did you get it?”

He didn’t answer, but I could hear the faint sound of his fingers tapping on the screen of his mobile phone. Then “Yanna.” This time, he sounded more exasperated than angry, allowing me to breathe a sigh of relief.

I had sent him a picture message of a floral bouquet, with an e-card attached.

You are so cute!

Remembering the message made me giggle.

Constantijin said darkly, “And I am not cute.”

That had me giggling even more.

“You are playing with me again.”

“Yes, this time, I am,” I admitted, unable to keep myself from grinning. God, I couldn’t believe I was having this kind of conversation with Constantijin. I mean, what were the odds? He wasn’t much of a caller – and God knew how he hated sending text messages. If he had ever enjoyed a call with another woman before, it would probably have been the hardcore variety of phone sex.

          “You are a bad girl.”

God, I loved it when his accent thickened and he started talking simplified English. “I learned from a bad man.”

He sucked in his breath. “I’ve never been this aroused from a mere call.”

That didn’t make us even, not even close. I had never been aroused – until I met him. Still smiling my insanely smitten smile, I asked softly, “Did you like the picture, though?”

A smile was also in his voice when he answered softly, “Yes.”

I ventured, “That’s the kind of bouquet I’d love you to give me.”

          Silence from the other line.

          “Constantijin?”

          “You are for real?”

A giggle escaped me at his incredulous tone. I tried to explain, “I’m just really uncomfortable with the money you’re spending on me.”

          “Then you are truly serious?”

My giggle turned into genuine laughter. “Yes, Constantijin. I am.”

A sigh escaped him. “I do not understand you at all.”

I think that’s a good thing, but I knew I was better off not saying it.

“If you do not want me spending my money on flowers, then what should I spend my money on? I want something that would please you.”

“Text messages cost money,” I told him helpfully. My phone started to ring in the background.

          “Answer it,” he ordered.

          “No, it’s okay---”

          “Please.”

Sighing, I wiped one hand dry in the towel hanging from the rail and fumbled for my phone from the expansive sink. My eyes widened. “You’re calling me?” But Constantijin had already ended the call to my wireless. Placing the wireless on the dry part of the sink, I answered his call to my mobile phone, inhaling sharply when I saw Constantijin appear on the screen.

          Bare-chested.

“Constantijin!” My insides turned into jelly at the sight of him wearing nothing but a pair of flannel pants, his fair skin gleaming in the darkness of the night. He was standing at the balcony of his hotel room, leaning against the rails. Even just through the iPhone’s screen I could appreciate how stunning Dubai’s views were, with its mixture of urban paradise and wild desert beauty - a perfect background for someone as untamed and gorgeous as Constantijin Kastein.

“I wish you were here, schat.”

His huskily spoken words made my toes curl under the bubble.

“If you were here, I would have fucked you in this very spot, taking you from behind while you watched the world and they watched you, knowing that they cannot have you because you are mine.”

“Constantijin.” Oh, dear. I think I had to have another shower after this. I was wet for a whole different reason now. I pushed myself up---

          “You’re in the bath?”

          Oh, shit, I forgot.

I sank right back in the bubbles.

“Yanna.” His voice was harsh, and through the video call I could see his face turning taut with the same need coursing through my body, sparking every nerve until I was almost shaking with desire.

“Take pity on a poor man and show me your breasts again, sweetheart.”

          “I can’t.”

          “Yes, you can.”

          I shook my head mutely.

The intensity of his gaze, the acute frustration in his eyes – it all reached out to me even though we were half a world apart. Swallowing, I said, “Just for a second.”

          “Thirty,” he immediately bargained.

“Ten, starting now.” I rose from the water, completely baring my breasts to his sight. Even as I could feel myself blushing, with my nipples turning hard, I didn’t lose track of my mental counting. One...two...three...oh God, this was getting embarrassing! EightnineTEN!

I sank back into my bubble bath with a swoosh, face completely on fire now.

“That was not ten seconds,” Constantijin growled.

          “Goodbye, Constantijin.”

          “Don’t you dare hang up.”

          Giggling, I so dared.

My phone beeped a second later, and still smiling to myself I opened Constantijin’s message.

I repeat, that was NOT ten seconds.

It was. I counted. I swear.

Good thing I always keep a record of my video calls.

I shot up from my bath, hitting the call button immediately.

“Yanna,” he practically purred into my ear.

“Constantijin,” I growled back. “Delete it.”

“No.” I could totally imagine him grinning his wicked grin right now, especially when he said, “I’ll see you in Monday.”

          “Don’t you dare hang up!”

          But he did.

Hope you liked the newest excerpt, guys! :) I have my fingers crossed it will be out on the last day of January. Just so I can stick with my deadline. But if not then early Feb it is.
In a bit I'll be answering mails. Thank you again for your patience and I hope you check this one out when it's finally released.

Oh, and yes----

The Werewolf Prince and I, Edited Version - Out THIS MONTH. Promise, pinky swear, cross my heart, etc.

Park and Violet - I'm still working with my editor if this will come out this month as planned but if not, it will be replaced by another YA...but a paranormal romance this time that is "somewhat" connected to TWPaI. Hope that's good news?

New erotica - out sometime this January as well. Dare I say you'll like it? I think you will if you liked TWPaI. =D  The sneak peek for this was included in the first newsletter.

Sequels - Books 2 for TWPaI and Evren: Enter the Dragonette will likely come out in March!

February - Yes, we'll likely have another release out - maybe just one, but depends on how fast the editing gets done.

Soooo....good news v

That's me - not used to single-digit temps. It makes me rethink visiting places with sub-zero temps. =D
So earlier I already replied to a few comments, saying I got back and all, but actually I was just on my way back....it's just that I failed to keep Rob Schneider's lesson in mind: never celebrate too early.
But anyway, sorry if I'm rambling. I still haven't gotten my bearings back after my vacation with my family. It was fun, but it was also very eventful and tiring.

Anyway, back to writer/reader stuff.
I've resent newsletters to those who weren't able to receive it or had troubles receiving it. But....I also checked with MailChimp and I saw still quite a number of unopened newsletters. If you didn't get the sneak peeks, could be that it ended in your spam folder.

Sometime this week I'll be hosting The Haunting Season by Michelle Muto. It's a YA horror that I'm keen to read - fell in love with the cover, read the blurb and fell even harder! After that I'd like to share my reviews on a few indie reads I got to enjoy the past month or so, e.g. books by Amanda Heath and Natasha Anders.

Lastly....

BIG THANK YOU AGAIN, READERS!

Sometime last week, The Werewolf Prince and I had a really great run. We managed to reach #246 (not sure if it got higher than that but it's what my friend's screenshot showed) and #13 in Erotica. That was a huge surprise and a perfect way to start 2013.

So again, thank you guys!!!!
