I write sweet and steamy rom-coms with tear-jerker happy-ever-afters.

This is where we talk all about writing.

My Road to Publication

So sometime last month...this happened.

Last month, Clarise (my cover artist) and I went to Greenbelt to meet up with Ms. Alma Anonas-Carpio, one of the country's topnotch writers and a Palanca Award recipient and judge (she has a whole host of other awards, too). When I first received Ms. Alma's email, she struck me as someone really nice, smart, and strict - like a teacher are terrified of but want to impress at the same time. So, umm, yeah, it was because of those reasons that I ended up saying yes to being interviewed in person (sorry for the hassle, Ms. Alma!).

The interview went a loooooot better than Clarise and I feared, and it was really because Ms. Alma went out of her way to ensure we didn't feel like total noobs (which we are). :D

So anyway, today I got my free copies and here it is----

That super huge photo of mine made me wince (and that's why I've covered it here). :D I had emailed Ms. Alma with A LOT of book covers hoping she'd make do with them and not need an author photo. :D

Anyway, I hope you guys can buy a copy - I shared a few insights about self-publishing and a little about FLIRT PUBLISHING. :D While you're shopping for magazines, you might also want to check out this month's issue of RED, where Ms. Alma's erotica is serialized. :D

P.S. For those who don't know, Ms. Alma accepts literary submissions (short stories, poems, excerpts, essays etc.) for Philippines Graphic. Accepted submissions may even qualify for the Nick Joaquin Literary Awards. More info about submitting can be found here.

    Welcome!

    * Starting February 1, 2014, this blog will be dedicated to providing publishing tips for aspiring Filipino writers.
    * This blog is also where I share my theological views and how it affects my life and work as a writer. I consider myself an open-minded Catholic as I also have an uncle who's a Christian pastor. Luke 9:50 Jesus said to him, "Do not prevent him, for whoever is not against you is for you."
I believe with all my heart that it is our personal relationship with God that saves us and NOT RELIGION.
    * Readers, the stuff you want may be found here.
